Oh yes I did. c:

Big surprise (and thank you!) for everyone who has supported me for my last Yogscast Illustration! It currently has over 5,000 hits! Wow! You guys are just too sweet and amazing - it makes me so incredibly happy that you guys like my work! c:

To celebrate this achievement, I present to you, Yogscast2 - Family Portrait!

Five days of grueling, non-stop work went into this. This is now (currently) the biggest digital piece that I've ever drawn, and is also the biggest group picture I've ever attempted. I tried very hard to make the poses and postures a little more dynamic than last time. Hopefully it shows!

This time around, I've included MintyMinute, Toby, Rail Brothers Strippin and Benji, and Teep. Based on their Tekkit series, this should be just about everyone. If anyone knows that I'm missing anyone else (which is likely) please let me know!

I've also added.... (dun dun dun!) Beards! C: Included by popular demand! ...and I will literally come unglued if someone decides to make a sarcastic comment about it! c:

The easiest to draw in this illustration was Nilesy and the hardest to draw was, again, Xephos. My favorite of the bunch here is Teep, because I'm in love with his jacket. He's wearing a dinosaur hoodie in honor of his Tekkit with Rythian appearances.

Making of this Image:

Fun Fact: My computer has 1.25 Gigs of RAM!!
Fun Fact: This illustration's .PSD file size was about 50MB!
Fun Fact: This image took about 3 minutes to save! (Each time!)

Fun Fact: I now know the horror of impending Photoshop crash!

My computer can barely, barely handle files this big. I was surprised that I was even able to finish, honestly. This time around, I had a method to work by: 1 Folder, 1 Pre Sketch layer, 1 Sketch layer, 1 Color layer, 1 Line Art layer, and 1 Shine layer per character. That made a total of about 90 layers, plus I had about 10 other layers dedicated for other things. So...100 layers was about my grand total. The most I usually work on is about 30. So, this was very stressful for my computer. I didn't want to merge anything, because I was still moving characters around, and trying to get proportions right. I was editing eye sizes almost up until the very end.

Needless to say, this also added additional stress on me. I was able to keep a clip of about 3 - 4 characters per day, and it was hard work. My hands are a little better this time around, because I would take breaks often, rather than do a five hour marathon like I usual do. The breaks helped a lot. Last time, my hands hurt for days afterwards, and now (the day after this was posted) my hands feel pretty good. So, lesson for the wise: 10 - 15 minute break per hour!

After the success of the last image, I was weary of posting this. I want to stress that I didn't draw this for attention, I drew it to challenge myself again. I'm ferociously competitive, so for me, this was just the next biggest thing I could do. I hadn't originally planned to draw another Yogscast illustration, mind you. I literally (literally) woke up one day last week with this...fierce compulsion to draw a new / re-do of the old illustration. So...I did. I wanted to challenge myself to not only draw the original 10, but to draw the other characters that I had missed. And, as an extra challenge, I decided to go all the way and draw the beards! (Those of you who read my last description know the pitfalls I encountered trying to draw them right.)

Five days later... I've got this illustration I'm happy (but very self-conscious of) with. And, I enjoyed every moment of it. It was tough trying to fix everything that everyone mentioned last time around, and it was hard to portray the same personalities that I did in the other illustration. But - I'm happy with it! I take comfort in the fact that I know I'll do better next time around. c:

With that said, thank you all so much for the support! I hope you all enjoy this image as much as I had fun creating it!
