My computer overheated! >.<

I have been working on this piece for about a full week now, and I just finished the picture yesterday. I was making some last minute adjustments to the .png and suddenly, my screen went black and my computer shut off! I tried to turn it on a few times, and it would run for about three seconds and then turn off again.

My stomache dropped. I hadn't backed up the file yet, and my computer wasn't turning on. Not good.

I reached for the bottom of the computer and touched the underside. It was very, very hot to the touch. I was sure I fried it because I could smell that weird electronic smell. I went pale as the thoughts raced through my head; "I hope I didn't just lose that picture!!" I waited an hour or so before attempting to turn it on again. THANKFULLY it turned on, and I was able to retrieve this file and back it up in several places. Disaster averted! But let me tell you - that was probably the most scared I've been in a long, long time.

So, I'd like to present to you my piece that I've entered in the Yogscast Fan Art Competition - "The Yogscast! - A Bright and Early Morning!" I'm a little sad, because this is probably the last of my Yogscast groups shots for a while. It's hard to believe that I posted the first one exactly a month ago yesterday. This is what a months worth of progress looks like, guys.

I tried my hardest with this picture. There were several characters that I had to re-draw. I decided to be smart and draw Lewis's character first, because he's typically the hardest to draw, but halfway through the picture, everyone else was looking better than he was so I re-drew him anyway. Same goes for Hannah's character and Rythian.

I've added a few easter-eggy elements to this illustration, so try to find them all! The only one I'll give away is the cat sitting on Sjins' shoulder. It's the one called 'Jack' that he occassionally mentions in his videos. He's wearing the same space outfit as Sjin! <3

All in all, this was a fun piece to create. It was a lot, lot lot of hard work, and several times I wanted to just stop and settle with the two pieces that I already have in my gallery. But, I pulled on and finished, and I'm happy to say that this is my favorite piece of artwork that I've ever created, and reguarless of whether it wins or not, I'll always have fond and scary memories of creating it. I feel like I've grown as an artist during the past month, and to me, that's what matters the most.
